this (old) Kate Spade faux fur popover:
a neutral cape and full skirt (via Atlantic Pacific):
this convertible coat (pattern!) from Dressy Talk:
Which one is your favorite? What color(s) would you choose for a cape or a dressy coat? I\’d better get sewing…

ps: i\’ve never sewn with faux fur before but that silhouette looks like a super easy intro, right?

Have you see The Selfish Seamstress' hack of the Kate Spade number?https://selfishseamstress.wordpress.com? Sadly she has stopped blogging but her posts were brilliant and hilarious. x Ros

I've been obsessed with capes and ponchos all fall and winter so they cape in second picture is catching my eye. It's to die for!

Hope you enjoy them as much as I did – really smart and some great garments. Glad to help!

Such great inspo! I'm planning to make a coat (or two!) when winter rolls round, and this is definitely getting me in the mood 😉

I like the style lines on that, they're very unusual!

I love Blair Eadie's style, that cape is so great, isn't it? I actually have a cape pattern all prepared, I'm just waiting for the right fabric!

You're probably NOT thinking about wrapping yourself up in warm wool right now, are you? ps your playsuits have been so cute!!

Thanks for the tip! This is pretty low on my priorities list (since its a bit silly) but if a great faux fur comes along I'll be allll over it.

Great inspo! I cut out my coat fabric a few months ago and have done nothing more with it since, I really should get on with it, perhaps it will be ready by next winter 😉

The Selfish Seamstress blog (which I think has been abandoned, sadly) took on that Kate Spade pullover. She put out a free pattern for it, I think, but it's not graded. I'm a larger size that her, but maybe it would fit you if you still like it. I had even thrifted a faux fur coat at one point so I could cut it up and attempt my own version, but the coat was so cozy, I just couldn't do it. 😉
