I know everyone is talking about the new Barbie bodies, but have you seen Barbie Style instagram?? This is not new news, y\’all–she has over a million followers–but it\’s amazing. Astronaut, teacher, vet, and now… fashion blogger?
In addition to being a hilariously spot-on copy of your typical style/fashion blogger instagram, it\’s also a little bit amazing in the clothes department. Barbie is over a half century old, and she\’s picked up some great retro style in that time. I\’m not sure who makes the clothes, but if they could make some in my size, that would be great.
I don\’t think the clothes are, like, the Barbie clothes you can buy at your local Target. Who makes these?? How crazy of a job would it be to be Barbie\’s seamstress?
xoxo,

The bows on the shoulder dress is amazing! I think you need to make it. I'm now following this account and Barbie has gotten a serious wardrobe update and I love it.

Did Barbie's seamstress make tiny little pockets in that LBD? O_o

I love it! I'm trying to find a pattern similar enough to the black dress that I can easily alter it to match. It's like My Size Barbie all over again…

That's actually brilliant! I did always love making clothes for and dressing up my dolls, especially when I lacked the skill and patience to make them for myself – though I don't think my creations were as finely tailored as these 😛 I've toyed with the idea of sewing an LBD, but I actually have one that I don't think could be improved upon, a sweetheart halter one which is now technically vintage, as it was my mum's in the early 90s! Still, I'm getting definite inspo from that red collared dress – to the drawing board!

My biggest regret is that my daughter never had a My Size Barbie…

They used to have real fashion designers put out very expensive lines of Barbie clothes when I was little. I remember drooling over the Bob Mackie ones.

I remember seeing a barbie display at the Mall of America maybe ten years ago that had a ton of designers each make her one outfit. It was amazing! I really like barbie as a fashion doll.
