For Galentine\’s Day I\’d like to ask Y\’ALL to be my gals (and guys, maybe)! I\’ve definitely been feeling the love this year–and it\’s only February. This blog just hit 500 bloglovin\’ followers and it has become my custom to do a giveaway when I get to those nice round numbers, so here\’s to you! Winner (open internationally) will receive a little box of treats (sewing and/or other stuff depending on the winner).
Thanks so much for all your likes and follows and shares and votes (etc etc) and I especially appreciate all your comments, both here and on social media! I really love your advice and constructive criticism and guidance (and compliments are always nice too).

I totally prefer Galentines! Much less pressure and a lot more cheesy fun π
Jenna says
I prefer Valentine's… I'm a bit of my traditionalist π love my hubby… Going on 9 years married! He supports all my crazy sewing adventures!
Arlette the Needle says
Galentines for sure ! But both are pretty

While I love the valentines skirt/crop combo I'm definitely not as brave as you so I'd say Galentines for sure – that and I'm a closet goth so pink is WAY out of my comfort zone. You, of course, look stunnin' in both!
Allie says
I'm celebrated both this year! Do I have to pick a fave? I've never been a Valentine's hater. I love pink and flowers and candy, what can I say. Really enjoying your blog.
Liz says
This is the first year I get to celebrate Valentine's with someone I love, in the past it's always been the end of a relationship, between relationships or long-distance, so this year it's Valentine's, but nothing fancy! Normally definitely a Galentine's girl π
Sue says
I love Galentine's! There's less pressure than gifting for/surprising a significant other for Valentine's Day, and it's nice to thank your girlfriends for being there for ya, and avoid taking 'em for granted. Congrats on 500! I'm one of the new additions to your followers and am enjoying your blog and sewing style! Thanks for being a fun source of inspiration. π
Michelle Hills says
I love Valentines!! But I vividly remember before I met my husband that it isn't as fun when your single.
Laura says
I've never been much for celebrating valentines or galentines but they both can be fun! Congrats on 500 followers, I feel like it wasn't too long ago when you were celebrating 100!

Valentines for sure! With something pink or red probably!Congratulations for the 500! π

Both! I have never heard of Galentine's Day, but it sounds fabulous. π
Alli says
I'm too lazy to celebrate either, heh!
Aimee says
Galentine's is my favorite. It usually involves a lot of sour beers, delicious nosh, and a funny movie!
Elizabeth says
I reckon Galentines sounds like a better holiday, but I don't really celebrate either – I asked a few of my gal pals and they aren't celebrating either. Maybe we're just sad people, but hey what can you do π
Alyssa says
I've never thought to do a galentine's, but it sounds fun! My tradition is to buy my partner a cheeky card – none of that mushy poetry stuff here!
pailofpearls says
I like the gifts of Valentine's and the idea of Galentine's

I love both of these looks! I prefer Valentine's, but only because it's my birthday and I get double presents from my hubby π

Having never, ever had a date (or even a special someone!) on Valentine's, and being very, very single right now, I think I'm gonna have to go with Galentine's π
Unknown says
The best thing about either is the sweets and cake, so it doesn't matter!
Irena says
Galentine's is my favorite.

my husband is always away for valentines so galentines is the winner for me!
Bridget says
Has to be galentines, I've never been a fan of valentines and my husbands the same. In the 10 years we've been together we've made a point of celebrating the dates that matter to us, not the arbitrary ones. Having said that back when I was a student I always used to celebrate with my friends and had a great time.
Erin || Sewbon.com says
I love them both!!
Unknown says
I'm more partial to valentine's day…though I do love my gals!
Lia says
I like Galentine's Day (and-or Palentine's for mixed b&g! Though it's a little similar to Palestine in name). However, this is the third and final year of being across an ocean from my fellow, so next year I might change my mind. : ) Though if we're picking an outfit, Galentine's all the way!!
Kat says
I love Valentines Day! We don't celebrate our wedding anniversary as it is 2 weeks either side of both mine and my husbands birthdays. So we use Valentines as our surrogate wedding anniversary. But I also love to shower my friends with love so I am adopting galentines for next year. I had never heard of it till this year!
